On February 1st the Judicial Appointments Commission will launch a selection exercise to appoint 100 Recorders to sit in either the crime or family jurisdiction across all circuits.
The JAC have told the AWB that they are keen to encourage applications from women (as well as other groups currently underrepresented in the judiciary) and have asked us to publicise the competition among our members.
The competition is open to all barristers and solicitors with at least seven years’ post-qualification experience, regardless of their background.
The JAC will select the 100 best candidates following four selection rounds:
• an online multiple choice test
• an online scenario test
• a telephone assessment
• a selection day comprising an interview and role play
